Spade is maybe the best example of someone who shows theory isn’t useless and is so so so important for radical politics/rethinking the state quo. His entire legal practice is so informed by Foucault, and in a way that reveals a much deeper and more complex understanding of how power works than most people I know working in literary/philosophy/social science fields.
